In Youngtown, the population reached 4420 people in 1993. In 1998, there were 5600 residents. WhAt was the population in 2000

    slope = (5600 - 4420) / (1998 - 1993)

    slope = 1180/5 = 236 ... so the town basically gained 236 people per yr

    so in 1998 there were 5600 ... in 2000, 2 years later, the town would have:

    5600 + 236 (2) = 5600 + 472 = 6072 <==
