Nine families went on a picnic. Each family had carried a cake for the picnic. 2/3 of each cake was eaten. Find out how much cake was eaten in all.?

    Since there is nine families, each family brought a cake to the picnic, and 2/3 of each of them were eaten - - > If you take the number of cakes brought and multiply it with the number eaten with each cake (2/3 * 9 = 18/3 = 6) you get the answer to be 6 cakes eaten by everyone
