The cost c of producing x number of calculators is given by c = 4.50x + 3000 and the revenue r from selling is 16.50x. find the number of calculators that must be sold to break even

    250 calculators must be sold to break even.

    Subtract 4.50x on both sides of the equal sign.

    4.50x + 3000 = 16.50x

    Then you divide by 12 on both sides.

    12x = 3000

    And you get 250.
