The crew uses c (t (x)) to find the amount of money to spend on hot sauce. The function c (x) = 2x + 5. Solve for how much money must be spent when the crew is going to work 4 shifts.

    1) t (x) = 4x + 3

    2) c (x) = 2x + 5

    3) c [ t (x) ] = 2 (tx) + 5 = 2 [ 4x + 3] + 5 = 8x + 6 + 5 = 8x + 11

    4) x = 4 = > c (t (4)) = 8 (4) + 11 = 32 + 11 = 43

    Answer: 43
