Leyla drops a penny from a height of 150 m.

How long will it take the penny to hit the ground?

Use the formula h (t) = 4.9t^2 + v o t + h o, where v o is the initial velocity and h o is the initial height.

    To calculate the time it takes for the penny to hit the ground, we use the formula given relating time and the height of the penny. We calculate as follows:

    h = 4.9 (t²) + v0 t + h o

    150 = 4.9 (t²) + 0 t + 0

    0 = 4.9 (t²) - 150

    t = 5.53

    t = - 5.53

    Since in reality there is no time that is negative, the answer would be 5.53 units of time.
