    perimeter = 2 times the length plus 2 times the width

    which can also be written as 2 (4/3w+w) so the answer is D

    28 = 2 (4/3w+w) when you do the calculation w = 6

    length = 4/3 * 6 = 8

    area = 6 * 8 = 48 square inches
