    5,000 +.06x = 6,500 +.04x

    5,000-5,000 +.06x = 6,500-5,000 +.04x

    .06x -.04x=1,500+0.04x-0.04x

    0.02x=1,500

    x=75,000

    Check

    5,000 +.06 (75000) = 6,500 +.04 (75000)

    5,000 + 4500 = 6500 + 3000

    9500 = 9500

    They must each sell $75,000
