    20% was evaporated

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Formula:

    ((New value-old value) / (old value)) * 100

    ((2-2.5) / (2.5)) * 100 = 20

    20% of the water evaporated

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We know that 500,000 evaporated because 2,500,000-2,000,000 is 500,000.

    100% - 2,500,000

    500,000 - x%

    2,500,000/500,000 = 100/x

    x = (500,000) (100) / 2,500,000

    x = 20%

    20% of the water evaporated.
