Answer: 14.7 pints of white paint

IF two different colors were used.

IF she mixed paint to get a light blue, 3/5 of the total would be about 5.9 pints.

    Step-by-step explanation:

If 9.8 is 2/5 of the total amount used, set up the equation as 9.8 = 2x/5

You get the total amount of paint used is 24.5 pints. Subtract the 9.8 of blue to find the amount of white. That's 14.7 pints.

In practical, real life, a quart of paint covers about 100 square feet. That's an average 8 ft high by 12 ft wide wall.

So that is why I edited this answer. 24 pints is 3 gallons- - that is enough for 3 bedrooms.

And I wish that Math teachers used more common measurements of paint!

    5.88 pints

    Step-by-step explanation:

Well the amount of white paint is 3 / 5 of 9.8

    0.6 * 9.8 = 5.88
