There are 3 feet in a yard, so that would be 26x3=78 feet. If it's $2 per foot, you would have to multiply 78 by 2 which gives you 156. He paid $156 for the rope

    The answer is $156.

    Here's why:

    26 yards = 78 feet

    78 times 2=156
