Not sure what the question is, but the quotient is - 2x+5.

We first look for the number of times x² goes into - 2x³. It goes in - 2x times. This goes over - 23x in the box. Multiply back by the divisor, and the product we write under the dividend in the box is

    -2x³+6x²-8x

    We now have this subtraction:

    -2x³+11x²-23x

    - (2x³ + 6x² - 8x)

    Which gives us

    5x²-15x

Bring down the 20 from the dividend and we have

    5x²-15x+20

Now we see how many times x² will go into 5x². It goes 5 times, so we write + 5 beside our - 2x in the quotient. Multiply 5 by the divisor, and we have the following to write under the next line in our process:

    5x²-15x+20

When we subtract this from the previous line, we have 0 remainder.
