    300 meters away

    Step-by-step explanation:

it will take the dolphin 50 seconds to finish the race (400/8)

it will take the man 200 seconds to finish the race (400/2)

by the time the dolphin crosses the finish line it will take the swimmer 150 seconds to reach the finish line (200 - 50 seconds)

recall the swimmer swims at 2 meters per second and has 150seconds to reach the finish line hence he is 300 meters away (150 x 2)
