2. The profit on a refrigerator is 35% of the cost price.

If the profit is $280, find

(i) the cost price, (ii) the selling price,

of the refrigerator.

    Let Cost Price be x, so

    35/100x = 280

    x = 280 / 0.35 = 800 = Cost Price

    Selling price = 800 + 280 = 1080
