1. The farmer's market will only accept fruit that is above average

size. However, they do not define how to calculate "average", with a

mean or with a median. The goal is to sell as much fruit as possible

for premium prices at the farmer's market.

a. The orange crop is represented by the histogram at right. To get

the maximum amount of fruit to the market, should the orchard

use the mean or the median for the "average"?
