Alice Correa bought three yards of cloth to make a dress. The cloth was on sale for $1.93 per yard. How much did Alice pay for the cloth if the sales tax was 5 percent?

    The correct answer for this question is that Alice Correa will have spent $6.07 on the cloth overall. This can be worked out through first considering what 5% of the original price will be, so $5.79 / 100 = 0.0579 x 5 = $0.28, so $5.79 + $0.28 = $6.07
