The length of a square is six inches long. Kingsley drew a rectangle with the same area as the square. The length of Kingsley's rectangle is nine inches. What is the perimeter, in inches, of Kingsley's rectangle?

    let breadth of rectangle is b

    then

    area of square = area of rectangle

    6 * 6 = l * b = 9 * b

    36 = 9b

    dividing by 9 both side

    36/9 = 9b/9

    4 = b

    b = 4 inch

    so l = 9 inch

    perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l + b)

    = 2 (9+4)

    = 26 inch
