Suppose that three consecutive whole numbers are:

First number = x

Second Number = x+1

Third Number = x+2

Given that sum of 3 numbers is 57

x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 57

x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 57

3x + 3 = 57

3x = 54

x = 18

So, first whole number x = 18

second whole number = x+1 = 18 + 1 = 19
