    Find the Greatest Common Factor (GCF)

    GCF = 3

    Factor out the GCF. (Write the GCF first, and then in parenthesis, divide each term by the GCF)

    3 (3x/3 + 18/3)

    Simplify each term in parenthesis

    = 3 (x + 6)
