How do you solve this ... 8=x-5/7

    First, move - 5/7 to the other side giving you x = 8+5/7. Depending on if you want to keep it as a fraction or not, the answer is 69/8 or 8.625

    Add 5/7 on both sides.

    It'll cancel out the negative 5/7, and it will make the x variable only equal to one number (Well, a mixed number.)
