To reduce the price by 20% you first have to find 10%.

We do this by dividing the number by 10.

In this case 10% would be 2.8

We can the double this to get 20%, therefore 20% is 5.6

We need to take this 20% off of the original $28

    28-5.6 = $22.40

The $2 coupon need to be taken off the price which leaves $20.40

Janet will pay $20.40 for the necklace.
