    Answer: x=9

    Step-by-step explanation:To solve this problemm we are going to be using the distributive property ...

    First of all let start with the left side of the parenthesis ...

    2 (x+5)

    2 times x is 2x. 2 times 5 is 10.

    So let; s write our equation now ...

    2x+10=3x+1

    Now we are going to want to get either 2x or 3x alone. Let. s get 2x alone ...

    To do this we will subtract 10 from the 10, but what we do to one side we do to the other ... So we are gonna subtract the 10 from the 1 and we get - 9.

    Here is oour equation now ...

    2x=3x-9

    Now we are going to get 3x on the other side by subtracting 3x on both sides of the equation.

    -1x=-9

    Divide - 9 by - 1. You get 9.

    So x=9
