Type the correct answer in the box.

Juan is making trail mix for an upcoming camping trip with his family. He wants to add cashews which cost $10.99 a pound and dried blueberries which cost $8.89 a pound to the mix.

Write an inequality he can use to determine the pounds of cashews, c, and the pounds of blueberries, b, he can purchase if he wants to spend no more than $25.

Do not include $ or units in the inequality.

    The inequality for this problem would be 10.99c + 8.89b ≤ 25.

    To find this, we need to know that for every pound of cashews (c) we have to pay 10.99. That's how we find the first term. Similar for the second in which we charge 8.89 for blueberries (b).

    Then when we add these together, we know that they must not be greater than 25. So we can express it with a ≤.
