Bertha has $2400 more invested at 4% than she has at 5%. If her annual income from these two investments is $294, how much does she have invested at each rate?

    So

    x (4%)

    y (5%)

    x=y+2400

    0.04x+0.05y=294

    Once you solve them, x=4600 and y=2200

    so 4% = $4600

    5% = $2200
