    The answer is 8+9x

    you have to combine the like terms.

    the only like terms would be 2x and 7x.

    8 cannot be combined with 2x or 7x, therefore we can just leave it.

    adding 2x and 7x would equal to 9x, therefore the final answer is: 8+9x
