    Answer 5 pears and 7 peaches

    Explanation: you will need to make two equations to represent the problem

    X being for peaches and y for pears

    x+y = 12

    1.5x + 1.6y = 18.5

    We are going to use the elimination method and so we need to cancel either x or y in this case x. So we multiple the top equation by - 1.5

    -1.5x - 1.5y = - 18

    1.5x + 1.6y = 18.5

    Then we can cancel the x since they are opposite and we can add the rest

    0.1y = 0.5

    Y = 5

    Then we can substitute the y into one of the equations

    x + 5 = 12

    x = 7
