Square slabs of side 40cm are to be paved in the rectangular courtyard of an office 24m long and 16m wide. Find the number of slabs required?

    first you find the total area by multiplying 24*16

    you have to cover a total of 384 meters

    then you find out how many cm in a meter there is 100 cm in a meter

    there will be 2.5 slabs per meter

    you multiply 2.5 * 384

    you will need 960 slabs
