What is the solution to the equation 3 (x - 1) - 2 (2x 1) = 8 (x - 1) ?

    3 (x - 1) - 2 (2x + 1) = 8 (x - 1)

    3x - 3 - 4x - 2 = 8x - 8

    -x - 5 = 8x - 8

    8x + x = - 5 + 8

    9x = 3

    x = 3/9 = 1/3
