    a). There is no reason to be afraid of this part!

    Forget about the walls for a minute. This part is only

    talking about the square, where it sits on the ground.

    The base is a square. That means four equal sides.

    The distance all the way around it (perimeter) is 3,024 ft.

    The length of each side is

    3024 ft / 4 = 756 ft.

    The area of a square is (length of side) ²

    The little ² means 'squared'.

    Area = (length of side) x (length of side)

    = (756 ft) x (756 ft)

    = 571,536 square feet.

    b). Now we need to find the volume of the square pyramid.

    I don't know the formula for it. You may have learned it, but

    you don't remember it. I had to go look it up. You could do

    the same thing.

    Volume of a square pyramid =

    (area of the square base)

    times

    (1/3 of the height).

    Do we know the area of the square base? Yes!

    Do we know the height? Yes! They gave it to us.

    All we have to do to find the volume is plug the numbers

    that we have into the formula that I went and looked up.

    Area of the square base = 571,536 square feet

    Height = 460 feet

    Volume = (1/3) x (571,536 ft²) x (460 ft).

    I'm sure you can take it from here and polish it off.

    Remember to multiply your units too, so you wind up

    with ft³ (cubic feet) for volume.
