Suppose you have $1,500 in your pocket, you lose track of how much you spent when going shopping but ended up with $600 left, how would you solve this problem?

    X+600=1500

    The amount you spent + the amount you have left = the money you had in the beginning.

    Solve for x:

    x=1500-600=900

    Answer: you spent $900
