    Make the denominators equal

    4 9/12 + 2 10/12

    Add the fractions

    6 19/12

    Simplify

    7 7/12

Wow ... interesting way of doing it. Guess i donit the old way:

    4 3/4 + 2 5/6

    4x4+3=19/4

    2x6+5=17/6

Change both denominators to 12 and multiply top by hoe many times the denominator goes into the LCD

    57/12 + 34/12 = 91/12

    12 goes into 91

    7times with a remainder of 7/12

    So 7 7/12

Your way is WAY faster and easier
