    In this case, the length of the kite string is the hypotenuse of a triangle, we will label ABC

    we know that side length a is 19m, and the angle A is 33°. (remember side a and angle A are always opposite each other, same as side b and angle B etc.) From this information we can use SinФ = Opposite/Hypotenuse

    1. fill in the information you know

    Sin33°=19m/x

    2. solve for sin33°

    0.55=19m/x

    3. Isolate x

    x = 19/0.55

    4. Solve

    x = 34.5m

    ∴the length of the kite string is 34.5 m
