Explain how to use a benchmark fraction to determine what fraction is greater 3/6 or 5/12?

    Use common denominators.

    3/6 and 5/12 can have common denominators of 12.

    3/6*2/2 = 6/12

    6/12>5/12

    So 3/6 is bigger
