    Test statistic = 4.75

    Step-by-step explanation:

    We are given that

    μ=23, n=46, xbar=25.8 and standard deviation=S. D=4

    As the population standard deviation is unknown, so t-test statistic will be used

    Test statistic t = (xbar-μ) / (S. D/√n)

    Test statistic = (25.8-23) / (4/√46)

    Test statistic = (2.8) / (4/6.782)

    Test statistic = (2.8) / (0.5898)

    Test statistic = 4.75

    The calculated test statistic is 4.75.
