6 equal rows would mean the same amount in each row so we divide 36 by 6.

    36 divided by 6 is 6.

So 6 members can fit into each row

They can not be placed into 7 equal rows because 36 divided by 7 is 5.14 and you can not have. 14 of a person.

There are 6 people in each row. 36 band members can not be placed in 7 equal rows because 6 times 6 = 36.
