Chain discount of 8/3/1 means that B&D will apply first a discount of 8%, then 3% to the net and finally 1% to the new net

When you apply a discount you can multiply by a factor equal to [100 - the discount]/100.

    This results in:

    Factor for 8% discount = (100 - 8) / 100 = 92/100 = 0.92

    Factor for 3% discount = 0.97

    Factor for 1% discount = 0.99

    Net price, 3,800 * 0.92*0.97*0.99 = 3357.21

    Here is the calculations

    (92/100) x3800 = 3496

    (97/100) x3496 = 3391.12

    (99/100) x3391,12 = 3357.2088
