    3x^3+12x^2+3x

The GCF would be 3x, you can factor out a 3x

    3x (x^2+4x+3)

You can further factor the problem ...

    3x (x+3) (x+1)

Another equivalent form can be made if you simply distribute 3x into x+3

    (3x^2+9x) (x+1)
