First lets subtract 3 from both sides. That gives us 5x = 7x-4. Then lets move the - 4 to the other side reversing the sign. 5x+4=7x. Now lets subtract 5x from both sides. That will give us 2x = 4. Now all we need to do as a last step is divide by 2. That will give us x = 2. That is how you solve it in a nutshell
