Suzette went to the mall with her uncle Louie and ended up having to borrow some money to finish her holiday shopping. Suzette saw an egg-beater that she wanted to get for her sister. It cost $12.00 and she said to her uncle, "If you will lend me as much money as I currently have in my wallet, I will buy the beautiful beater for Betty." He agreed and lent her the money. At another store she found a handsome slide rule for her brother, also for $12.00. She made the same deal with her uncle. "If you will lend me as much money as I currently have in my wallet, I will buy the rad rule for Robert." Once again, he agreed. Finally, Suzette decided to splurge on a CD for herself, which also happened to cost $12.00. You guessed it. She made the same deal with her uncle. This time however, after completing the transaction, her wallet ended up empty. How much money did Suzette have at the beginning of her shopping spree?
