Why 5/8 is bigger than 7/12?

    Think of 5/8 as 2.5/4 and 7/12 as 2.3/4. 2.5/4 is bigger and it's equal to 5/8

    Because the larger the denominator, the smaller the value (especially if the numerators are the same).
