    f (x) = ¹/₂x - 1

    f (x) = ¹/₂x - 1

    y = ¹/₂x - 1

    x = ¹/₂y - 1

    + 1 + 1

    x + 1 = ¹/₂y

    2 (x + 1) = 2 (¹/₂y)

    2 (x) + 2 (1) = y

    2x + 2 = y

    2x + 2 = f⁻¹ (x)

    2x + 2 = g (x)

    g (x) = { (3, 8), (1, 4), (-1, 0), (-3, - 4) }

    g (x) = 2x + 2
