    The perimeter of a square is the addition of the four sides of the square. That is;

    Step-by-step explanation:

    P = L+L+L+L (all the sides are equal for a square)

    OR Simply;

    P = 4 * L

    But P = 16; that means;

    16 = 4L Or

    4L = 16

    To get L, divide both sides by the hindrance to the freedom of L, that is 4.

    We have;

    4L/4 = 16/4

    L = 4

    Now find the Area of the square;

    Area of a square = L * L Or simply; L²

    A = L * L; But L = 4;

    A = 4*4

    A = 16m²
