If Jamie is x years old and Jamie's brother pete is 3 years older show can I write an expression to represent their ages

    X + 3 would be the expression representing pete's age.

    if jamie's brother pete is 3 years older than jamie, and jamie's age is x, then jamie's age plus 3 years would be pete's age. for example, if jamie is 5:

    5 + 3 = 8, making pete's age 8.
