What is the solution to this equation?

3x - 6 = 18

    The answer is D. 8

    Work: 3x-6=18 You have to get x alone on one side

    +6=+6 You cancelled out the - 6 using + 6 (always use opposites and what u do to one side you always do to the other side of the = sign)

    3x=24 You cancelled out the x3 using / 3

    /3=/3
