Line L1 has an x-intercept at x = 2 and a y-intercept at y = - 10. If L1 is parallel to L2 and L2 has a y-intercept at y = 3, find the x-intercept for line L2.

    The slope for L1 is (0 - - 10) / (2-0) = 5

    L2 is parallel to L1 so its slope is also 5. L2 has a y-intercept of 3.

    Then using y=mx+b, L2 equation is y=5x+3.

    Then the x-intercept is 0=5x+3, x=-3/5 or - 0.6
