Solve using substitution method. 3*-4y=18 and 2x + y = 1

    3x - 4y = 18 ⇒ 3x - 4y = 18

    2x + y = 1 ⇒ 8x + 4y = 4

    11x = 22

    11 11

    x = 2

    2x + y = 1

    2 (2) + y = 1

    4 + y = 1

    - 4 - 4

    y = - 3

    (x, y) = (2, 3)
