    The area of the rug is calculated using pi (3.14) x radius squared. so work it backwards ... 50.24 divided by pi (3.14) will give you the radius squared because you have made it the subject. this gives you 16. then square root 16 to give you the radius on its own. this is 4. you know the diameter is double the radius so 4 x 2 = 8. this is the diameter.
