    jim traveled 80 miles

    Step-by-step explanation:

    how far did jack travel

    d = rt

    d = 12 1/2 miles per hour * 5 1/3 hours

    change to improper fractions

    12 1/2 = (2*12 + 1 / ) 2 = 25/2

    5 1/3 = (3*5+1) / 3 = 16/3

    d = 25/2 * 16/3 = 25/3 * 16/2 = 25/3 * 8 = 200/3 miles

    jim traveled 1 1/5 times as far

    change this to an improper fraction

    1 1/5 = (5*1+1) / 5 = 6/5

    jim = jack * 6/5

    jim = 200/3 * 6/5

    200/5 * 6/3

    40 * 2

    80

    jim traveled 80 miles
