Brooke goes out for dinner, and the price of her meal is $18. The sales tax on the meal is 6%, and she also wants to leave a 20% tip. What is the total price of the meal?

    If the meal price of the meal does not already include the sales tax:

    $18*1.06

    = $19.08

    $19.08*1.2

    = $22.896

    = $22.90

    If the price of the meal includes the sales tax:

    $18*1.2

    = $21.60
