41-2n = - 5 (2n - 8)
41-2n = - 10n + 40 (open brackets)
take - 2n to other side and bring 40 in its place. (change of signs take place when bringing to other side of the equation)
41-40 = - 10n+2n
1 = - 8n
n = - 1/8 (standard form)

41-2n=-5 (2n-8)
41-2n=-10n+40
-2n+10n=40-41
8n=-1
1/8 (8n) = 1/8 (-1)
n=-1/8
