Fing an equation of the line that passes through (5, 7) and is perpendicular to y=5x-9

    Since it’s perpendicular tu have to flip the slope and change the sing which in this case would be - 1/5

    Then you put the equation together:

    y-7=-1/5 (x-5)

    Distribute:

    y-7=-1/5x+1

    Add the 7 to both sides of the equation:

    y-7=-1/5x+1

    +7 + 7

    And the final answer is: y=-1/5+8
